We learned this work where guessing wasn’t an option.

Alqemis was built on film sets, in operational environments, and inside professional seasons — places where a body has to perform on a date that does not move. The methods we use now were formed under those constraints and refined in clinical practice.

Where the standard came from

Twenty years of work with people who could not afford to be wrong

For a decade, Michael prepared actors and stunt crews for major motion pictures — Henry Cavill, Antje Traue, Michael Shannon, Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Callan Mulvey — across Man of Steel, 300: Rise of an Empire, Batman v Superman, and Justice League. Erin built the food that made the work survivable, cooking privately through Cavill’s Superman preparation and appearing on screen herself as an Amazon warrior in Justice League.

A studio does not extend a shooting schedule because someone’s recovery stalled. Neither does a selection course, a season, or a race date. That constraint shaped everything: methods either produced a measurable result inside a fixed window or they were discarded.

The same work carried into other rooms — Navy SEALs and other special operations personnel, Major League Baseball players, ultra-marathoners, professional climbers and downhill skiers, the women racing Red Bull Rampage and Formation, and the Atlanta Braves during team retreats. Different bodies, identical requirement.

The limit we ran into

Coaching is inference. Eventually inference runs out.

Even at the highest level of practice, a coach reads internal state from external signal: sleep quality, appetite, session output, mood, the way someone moves in the first ten minutes. That reading is often accurate. It is never complete.

The clients who taught us the most were the ones doing everything correctly who stalled anyway. Training was sound. Food was precise. Compliance was total. And nothing moved.

What we were missing sat below the surface — thyroid conversion, cortisol rhythm, intestinal permeability, micronutrient depletion, the pathway a hormone takes after the body produces it. None of it is visible from the outside. None of it responds to more discipline. And almost none of it appears on the panel run at an annual physical, which is a screening tool designed to catch disease rather than a map of how a system is functioning.

So Erin trained into it. Functional diagnostics, blood chemistry analysis, hormone and thyroid specialisation, gut and immune work, culinary medicine at Harvard Medical School. Alqemis is what came out of that decision.

What Alqemis does

A closed loop, not a report

Most practices that offer functional testing stop at interpretation. You receive a document, a supplement list, and a suggestion to follow up with your physician. The gap between knowing and doing is left to you.

We closed that gap. Alqemis now runs the full sequence in one place.

01 Test

Comprehensive blood panels, DUTCH hormone mapping, GI microbiome analysis, and targeted testing for toxins, mold, allergens, sleep architecture, and metabolic efficiency. Kits arrive at your home. We have lab access globally.

02 Interpret

Erin reads the panel as a system rather than a set of independent values. Markers inside the reference range still tell you something when read against each other; the reference range describes a population, not a person, and the distance between not sick and functioning well is where most of our work happens.

03 Prescribe

Where the data supports it, we prescribe. Bioidentical hormones calibrated to your labs, peptide protocols matched to your goals and your biology, dosed and stacked by design rather than by guesswork. Physician-issued, monitored, and adjusted.

04 Adjust

Monthly telehealth calls with Erin. Protocols change as your numbers change. This is the part that determines outcomes, and it’s the part almost nobody stays for.

Erin Blevins, FDNP

Co-Founder · Director of Diagnostics

Erin’s education in food started early, working as a recurring assistant to her father, a highly decorated chef. She built a career blending that training with outdoor sport and coaching, eventually founding shutupEAT and a private project gym in Salt Lake City, and authoring The Essential Carnivore Diet Cookbook on sustainable, nutrient-dense eating.

Her work as a private chef has operated at the highest level — DC Films, Netflix’s Rebel Moon, Red Bull’s Rampage and Formation, team retreats for the Atlanta Braves. She has written for Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, and fitness publications internationally, presented at Keto and Paleo conferences, and competed in and won a televised cooking series against one of the world’s best-known archers.

Her private client list includes actors, producers, and VFX specialists; elite ultra-marathoners, professional downhill skiers, and professional climbers; CrossFit competitors, national weightlifters, MLB and NBA players, stuntmen, Navy SEALs and other special operations personnel.

She has also worked, at length, with people navigating autoimmune conditions, cancer treatment, disordered eating, and chronic illness — populations where the margin for a careless recommendation is very small. That work is the reason she went and got clinical credentials rather than continuing on instinct, and it is the reason Alqemis is conservative where it should be and aggressive where it can afford to be.

Today she designs the diagnostic, nutrition, and prescriptive protocols for every Alqemis client.

Michael Blevins

Co-Founder · CEO

Michael spent a decade preparing actors and stunt crews for major motion pictures, and created Heavy Meta, a training practice used by thousands. He has published three works on strength, capacity, and endurance, and holds FRC certification.

His approach treats physical training as a laboratory for developing agency, self-awareness, and adaptability — using the energetic properties of exercise alongside state-change technique in breath, sound, and movement. He works with elite military and law enforcement personnel, ultra runners, CrossFit competitors, MLB players, and MMA fighters, alongside people who simply want a more capable life.

He is a writer, an explorer, and a BJJ practitioner. He lives in Salt Lake City.

This works well for

People who have been told their labs are normal and know that something is off. People carrying fatigue, digestive dysfunction, or a hormonal shift they can feel and cannot name. Performers, operators, and professionals whose output depends on a body that behaves. Anyone finished paying for guesses.

This works poorly for

People looking for a fixed-length programme with a finish line. Diagnostics reward patience — panels take time to return, protocols take weeks to register, and the second round of testing is usually where the real answer appears. If you want a result by a specific date without knowing what’s driving the problem, we are the wrong practice.

Start with the intake.

We’ll look at what you already have, identify what’s missing, and map the clearest path to where you’re trying to go. No package upsells. No guesswork dressed up as protocol.

Your labs don’t improve by waiting — the sooner we have your data, the sooner we can move.
